FAQ at femella Zurich

  • We are a global non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and building confident, impactful women of tomorrow. We provide a platform where our members can unite, exchange and thrive together.

We are built on three pillars – connect, learn and grow.

    • The connect pillar brings our members together through engaging social events.

    • Our learn pillar empowers femellas with essential soft and hard skills through expert-led workshops.

    • The grow pillar aims to inspire our community, cross-generationally as well as outside of our organization to enable personal and professional growth through our biggest annual grow event.

Behind every hub stands a board and committee voluntarily pouring their hearts organizing and coordinating the local community and platform.

    • A femella is a do-er, open-minded, ambitious, and Switzerland-based. Upon entry, she is a young woman, between the ages of 20 and 30.

    • A femella has an exceptional track record: she is either a student or a young professional that is passionate about what she does! (e.g science, business, sports or liberal arts)

    • A femella wants to be one of the women of tomorrow. She contributes to femellas mission as an active member of our network, thereby demonstrating inclusiveness towards others and supporting her fellow femellas!

  • You can apply for a membership twice a year. Application is possible via a form on our website, which will then be reviewed by the board. Once you are accepted, you will receive an email with a registration code for our app.

  • You can apply for a membership twice a year, at the end of summer and winter semester.

    • Community: At femella, we go beyond professional networking to support each other in all aspects of life. We foster an environment of empowerment, where members are uplifted in their personal and professional journeys. As part of our community you will gain access to our local and cross-hub WhatsApp communities as well as our own femella app.

    • Events: Kick-off event in September to welcome new and previous members; monthly social connect events to bond within the community; monthly learn events to expand your professional network, boost your skills and learn more about our partners; yearly flagship grow event for meaningful discussions and inspiration.

    • Network: Expand your network with like-minded women in your local hub and within our global community. Connect with employers, engage with our sponsors, and take advantage of the insights and guidance from our advisory board.

    • femella benefits: Benefit from plenty of goodies and sponsored products or services at our events. Meet like-minded women who might become friends, get inspired by meaningful insights into various industries, take action and form your future, and just have a good time within a great community.

  • Once entered our community before 30, you can stay a femella as long as you wish to be part of it. After turning 30, it is not possible to join our community initially.

  • If you wish to cancel your membership, please reach out to us at zurich@femella.org indicating the reason for your cancellation. In case of no official cancellation, you will still be charged the annual membership fee.

  • Depending on whether it is a connect, learn, or grow event, registration works differently. As soon as you are part of our community, you can register for our events via the femella app where you will get access to once you are accepted.

For our public events, like our annual grow event, we will also open our registrations on third-party ticketing websites, to enable registrations for non-members.

General information about our past and upcoming events is displayed on our website and social media.

Through our local and cross-hub Whatsapp Community you also find more spontaneous informal gatherings, where no registration is needed.

  • If you move abroad to another country or city with a femella hub, it is possible to switch hubs. Just contact the local head of community, and she will explain the procedure for the respective hub.
